Veterans Day - Encounter Culture November 2013
Veteran’s Day is observed as a federal holiday and is considered a day of celebration, to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. The holiday coincides with the holidays Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world, marking the anniversary of the end of World War I.
We hope you take a moment to share the importance of this federal holiday with your international participants. Use this opportunity to promote ways your organization or local community might recognize and celebrate the day.
AAG would like to highlight one of our outstanding host companies, Applebee’s restaurant, for their “Thank You Movement”. It’s a day when veterans and active duty military enjoy a free Applebee’s signature entrée on Veterans Day. http://www.applebees.com/veterans-day-menu
