Ukraine - Current News & J-1 Visa Cultural Exchange
Ukraine & U.S. Support
During the U.S. Department of State Daily Press Briefing on Wednesday February 25, 2014, Deputy Secretary Burns stated that
We will continue to firmly support Ukraine’s unity and territorial integrity, and healthy relations with all of its neighbors.
Alliance Abroad Group has been working with our business partners in Ukraine since 2004, helping Ukrainian university students come to the United States on J-1 Visa Cultural Exchange Programs. We have directly sponsored and supported over 3,500 Ukrainian exchange visitors. Right now, the people of Ukraine are creating change and history. You may have seen Facebook, CNN or headlines in your local newspapers with regard to the changes in Ukraine’s political government. We just want to take a moment and advise you that we are working very closely with our Ukrainian business partners to ensure we understand firsthand how our future 2014 Summer Work Travel applicants are doing.
At this point in time, we are not being notified of any significant changes that should affect the arrival of students who have been recruited. American Embassy appointments are proceeding as normal and approval levels are being reported as very positive. We will continue to keep you updated should anything change that would disrupt current plans. Please note, Alliance Abroad Group is fully vested in our business relationships and will ensure we are making the best decisions with regard to the safety, health and welfare of all our customers.
