Job Title: Business Administration Assistant
Pay: $1500 AUD  per month (Internship stipend)

Melbourne: Business Administration Assistant

We are currently seeking a Business Administration Assistant for a consulting firm that evaluates and identifies areas of growth and development for small businesses through training workshops. In this position, you will gain a working knowledge of business development, business management, and B2B communications.

Specific duties:

  • Testing CRM platforms including data input, identifying and implementing needs to make the system robust and effective
  • Provide insight, feedback and research on a proactive basis on where and how to direct the business’ pipeline and everyday efficiencies.
  • Coordinate with clients regarding workshop administration – setting dates, confirming venues, confirming payments, document sign off, and collecting feedback
  • Research of the client prior to the commencement of a workshop – build a background profile to assist workshop facilitator
  • Attend client meeting and take notes and assist with coordinating proposals and workshop voucher applications
  • Conduct calls to targeted small businesses to promote the workshop offer and set appointments for senior consultants to meet and follow through (i.e. telemarketing to fill a pipeline of clients)
  • Input into and involvement in other marketing campaigns as they arise

Other duties:

  • Assisting with triaging customer inquiries
  • Contact past workshop clients and obtain feedback and solicit referrals
  • Assist with writing case studies to use as marketing collateral
  • Assist with data collation and ad-hoc research to value-add to placements i.e. market research
  • Assist with invoicing for Managing Director
  • General marketing and communications activities as required


Ideal candidate:

  • Dedicated individual with a business administration, economics, commerce or finance background
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills
  • Professional, friendly and mature
  • Proven ability to recognize needs in a business environment
  • Ability to be confident in taking initiative and “think ahead of the curve”
  • 1+ years in a business administration environment is an asset
  • Demonstrated capability on focusing on one task at time while able to prioritize and manage multiple, competing deadlines
  • Understanding of working with government or large bureaucratic processes and procedures are an asset
  • Marketing knowledge and experience from a working environment is an asset
