International Volunteer Day
The United Nations (UN) annually observes the International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development on December 5th. The day is also known as International Volunteer Day and was designated by the United Nations in 1985 as a day to celebrate the power and potential of volunteerism. This is a great opportunity to design an in-house project for your staff and international participants alike.
Below are some recommended activities:
- Community Outreach: Determine a community need and create a charitable project that supports that cause or need
- Recognize your Staff: Identify existing volunteers in your staff and take a moment to recognize them for their contributions to the community in a celebratory ceremony
- Make it Fun: Design a volunteer competition for your organization
