Alliance Abroad Group Announces Joint Venture with Work Intern Travel
Joint venture announced between U.S.-based cultural exchange organization, Alliance Abroad Group, and Melbourne, Australia-based Work Intern Travel.
The partnership between Alliance Abroad Group and Work Intern Travel will offer dedicated recruitment services and support to Australian businesses facing staffing shortages.
Austin, TX (November 29, 2012) – Alliance Abroad Group (AAG), a long-standing cultural exchange organization based in Austin, Texas, today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Work Intern Travel (WIT), a recruitment services company based in Melbourne, Australia. The joint venture aims to provide hospitality and tourism industry employers within Australia access to experienced temporary and seasonal staff amid an unprecedented shortage of local hospitality workers.
“This partnership will allow us to deliver on-the-ground, personalized support to employers filling their vacant positions by way of our Work Experience Australia program,” said James Bell, President of Alliance Abroad Group. “As the businesses that we work with identify a need, WIT will serve as the local representative in Australia that can directly respond to the unique requirements of each employer.”
Earlier this year, AAG launched Work Experience Australia, a first-of-its-kind cultural exchange program that provides an innovative solution to two emerging problems. In the U.S., graduates are faced with limited employment opportunities and average starting salaries that continue to decline year over year. The Australia Tourism Export Council (ATEC) estimates that Australia has a surplus of nearly 34,000 available jobs in the tourism and hospitality industry. Through their program, AAG actively recruits worldwide and pre-screens hospitality graduates, matching qualified candidates to appropriate employers across Australia and guaranteeing paid positions prior to arrival.
“AAG’s collaboration with WIT will allow for more focused attention and support on the employer side of the program,” adds Victoria Lynden, Founder and CEO of Alliance Abroad Group. “Additionally, by joining forces with a local and experienced team, we will be better positioned to address shortages in all sectors of business throughout Australia.”
“The timing is perfect for this business,” states Frank Scerri, Managing Director of Work Intern Travel. “Alliance Abroad Group has an exceptional reputation for placing quality applicants around the world and providing top-notch customer support. Our involvement allows the business to not only shorten response times involved when operating in different time zones, but enables us to increase value offered to participating employers as we add our expertise of the local climate and culture.”
Scerri brings over 10 years of industry experience to the joint relationship having founded Overseas Working Holidays before selling it to Flight Centre Ltd, Australia’s biggest travel company.
The new joint venture officially launches December 1, 2012.
